Garden arch update

While out walking with my friend this morning I mentioned that Tony and I planned to move the wisteria out of the pot and plant it in the garden to climb over the archway.  'Why not just cut the bottom  off the pot and stand it in the border' said Marian. So we did, and it saved doing too much damage to the wisteria. We only bought it last year so don't expect to see any flowers for a few years but oh how glorious it will look when it does flower. Then we decided to move some of the pots around the garden and it looks really pretty out there.  I am looking forward to the summer bedding bursting into bloom and then it will look utterly beautiful.

This pot will be bursting with colour in a few weeks time
I rooted this Euonymus cutting earlier this year. It will fly away once it gets established

  1. You sound so happy and back to your old self. I'm glad your hip is doing better, and that you can garden again. I love wisteria. It's so spectacular when in bloom.

  2. I was wondering how on earth it was all done with it already on the pergola top. Clever! We have one on our pergola, planted 2 years ago & it's not very big at all yet, though a Wonga vine that was already near the steps has taken over the other side & flowered profusely last year. Your garden is looking great. Take care, stay safe & huggles.

  4. I love wisteria too. There are two beautiful examples in my village. A very old cottage has it growing across the top wall and the smell is amazing as you walk past. I never realised till then that it had a scent.
