A lovely drying day

It's been such a lovely day that after my walk this morning I emptied the laundry basket and everything is now washed, dried and folded ready to put away. When it is as hot and still as today has been I like to dry my facecloths and undies on the large lavender bush in my garden. I can only do that for a few more weeks as it will be crawling with bees as soon as the flowers burst open. I remember my gran saying that she kept her soap in her undies drawer.  I no longer buy shower gel in plastic bottles and instead I bought a family pack of Imperial Leather soap. Annoyingly it doesn't smell the way I remember it but I've popped bars of it in all my bedroom drawers. As soon as we have used the last of the hand wash in plastic bottles I am planning on melting a bar of the soap and pouring it into some little heart moulds that I use in my craft room. They will be  a nice addition to the guest bathroom and I can keep one next to the kitchen sink ready for a quick scrub if needed. I need to have a look online to see what I can add that will be slightly abrasive for the kitchen as my hands get really dirty when I am gardening.

  1. That's such a satisfying feeling when the laundry is washed, dried in the sunshine and put away neatly. I use my homemade soaps to scent my clothing in drawers, too. I love how it smells.

  2. I love the idea of drying the washing on the lavender bush. I dry the lavender and make good old fashioned bags for my drawers which I enjoy.
