Food delivery

Alexander, Beckah, Tony and I were having a video call earlier today. He is going a bit stir crazy and told me that he planned to go food shopping with Beckah  after our call. I reminded him that people aren't supposed to shop as couples now but offered to send him my shopping list so that they each could take a trolley around the store and even if they are observing the instore social distancing they can chat as they shop. I suggested that I paypal him the amount and was really touched when he said ' Mum, if I can't buy you some groceries then I am not much of a son'.  I won't let him pay the bill but was so touched that he offered. I've added some goodies to my shopping list but have no idea whether they will be available.
It did make me realise that having a kitchen at the front of the house is actually pretty handy. They can let themselves in and make a cup of tea while we sit well away from them. They've been self isolating for the past fortnight so are unlikely to have picked up the dreaded virus but I am not taking any chances.

  1. That was nice - of you both. I hope you can 'visit' a little.

  2. Snap. My daughter dropped off some goodies and would not take payment for them. She said she is not spending any money on other things due to this virus and so she wanted to treat us. What lovely kids we have.

  3. Having caring family members is so important during this time. I think it's lovely they did your shop for you and bought you an Easter egg too! We are doing grocery shop for my mother-in-law who needs to stay at home. One of us does the shop and drops them off to her. While she stands on her doorstep, we stand the required social distance away, and have a chat. Need to stay in touch and spend time with one another in whichever way you can. MegXx

  4. What a lovely son & mine are definitely keeping in touch to make sure we are OK, but live in other states of Australia, one daughter on the other side of Melbourne & the other in UK. We are all finding it strange. No regular exercise walk here for us today as it is howling outside, we've had plenty of rain so far this weekend & even snow on Mt. Baw Baw which is not far from Melbourne & close to us. Brrrr!! Take care, stay safe & hugs from down under.

  6. How wonderful must be lovely to see them. Technology is my best friend at the moment I get to see everyone that way, better than nothing. Take care.
