While pottering together in the garden I happened to say to himself that this is how retirement would be. A bit of gardening, a morning coffee and a gentle stroll over the fields.... not that we have walked today as we got plenty of exercise gardening today. We are eating really well and Tony has reduced the amount of bread he is eating as I tend to do a proper lunch. Today was a prawn and crab stick salad for lunch and a chicken casserole with mashed turnip and potato with a good chunk of cabbage.
The weather has been so nice that I have moved some plants from the conservatory windowsill. It's very sheltered on top of the log store and the plastic roof over the pergola which covers the log store has turned it into a greenhouse. If it looks like being very cold I will bring them back indoors.
What a lovely garden. I'm glad Tony is feeling better - I was wondering. Sorry to hear about the neighbours. My old work-friend's father is in the hospital and has tested positive. He has pneumonia on one long so I'm hoping he will recover. Of course friend is understandably worried about his mother too.
ReplyDeleteSO, so glad Tony is feeling so much better. Not such good news about your friends and I'm very much hoping that they will feel better very soon.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you about retirement - because I'm retired (and live on my own), things haven't changed all that much really. It's just the underlying anxiety.
xx
Lunch sounds like it was tasty. Glad Tony feeling better - hope all your friends/neighbours will be better soon too. Emmax
