Cooking ahead

Domestic goddess that I am  :-)  While I was cooking the chicken casserole for tea yesterday I boiled the chicken carcass and used the stock and all the remaining meat to make a spicy chicken and veg rice for tonight's tea/dinner. This means that I can get on and stitch the quilt that I started the other day. My batting arrived and I have waited for a quick change in the weather before making a start. It would be a bit of a waste of a nice day to spend it stuck indoors when we are all staying inside at the moment.  I also traced then cut out a little rabbit pattern from one of my new books. I adapted it slightly by lengthening the legs, arms and ears as I want it to look like a baby Luna Lapin. It had been my plan to sit in the garden and hand sew the baby rabbit if today's weather looked promising... it doesn't so I can crack on with the quilt later today.

I have just spoken with my poorly friend. She definitely has covid and is on oxygen in hospital. This is the lady that I walked with early every morning so I feel as though I have had a very lucky escape. Counting my blessings.
