Before I start twittering on please can I just take a minute to acknowledge the families of anyone who died this past week. Those numbers that we see every evening are loved ones with hopes and dreams that will never come to fruition and of course not forgetting that people all over the world are very ill with other things too. My heart is sad for each and every one of you. Bless you all.

It's a glorious blue sky and sunshine morning this morning. Tony is still in bed and will be there for at least another hour.... and why not. I need so much less sleep than he does and that has always been the case. I plan to head out into the garden to do a bit of weeding and planting in about ten minutes. We have a big bag of gladioli bulbs that need planting. The border was thoroughly watered yesterday and I am hoping that the warmth of the sun really gives the plants a boost over the next few days. The newly planted hedging is starting to push out little green shoots so it will only be a matter of weeks before we have a baby hedge. It is a gorgeous green and gold variegated one and will really add some lightness into the garden as it gets thicker and taller. We are planning on keeping it to around five feet tall. The sunlight that floods into the house now has made us realise just how much shadow the previous hedge cast across the garden. It will give us all enough privacy to sit in the garden without blocking the sunlight.
Please stay safe and well my blogging friends. These are worrying times for everyone.
Have a lovely time in the garden. It can be a very healing and calming time, working in the garden.

Your day ahead sounds lovely & better than ours as it was cold, windy & wet. So many people gone & as you say their dreams with them & families now bereft. Hope we get to see the garden coming into Spring colour. Thanks for my comment. Stay safe, take care and huggles.
ReplyDeleteThis situation hopefully will give us all time to reflect on how lucky we all are to have the lives we have. Enough food, somewhere to live and a country that is not at war.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your garden today Cherie and keep safe.
