Frog spawn at last

Yesterday I spotted five large frogs in the pond and then later on during the afternoon there was a good sized clump of spawn.  I bet my goldfish are having a right old feast as we don't feed them through the winter.
I've been into town with my friend this morning. No idea what I did when I booked my tickets online but I mistakenly opted to collect them at the station.  I didn't notice that until I was sitting on the train. The conductor initially wanted me to pay again and then claim my money back. I pointed out that the ticket machine  at the station rarely works but that there is the option to 'Promise to pay'. I argued that the fact I have obviously bought a ticket (it says so on my emails and on the 'trainline app on my phone) is as good as a promise to pay. She 'let me off this time'????????   and said that I would have to collect my ticket when I got off the train.
I had planned a gardening afternoon but it's bitterly cold in the wind today so I will leave it until it warms up a bit.

  1. I shall have to check my little pond to see if there's any sign on frogspawn in there, we didn't get any at all last year.

  2. That's exciting about the frogs. Too bad it is too cold to garden, I'm sure you have plenty of crafts and cooking/baking projects to keep you busy and happy.

  3. It's bitterly cold here, in the wind. In more sheltered spots it's lovely and mild. Wind chill is a powerful thing!
    'Let you off'!!! Cheek!

  4. Some people like to throw their authority around no matter how sensible your explanation. I once sat in my car at a parking meter for about one minute, picking small change out of my purse to put in the meter, and when I got out, there was a police officer wanting to ticket me. He said I was sitting in the car until I saw him coming. I had NOT seen him coming, and I showed him the handful of coins. He "let me off with a warning" just like your conductor! Crikey! They take themselves far too seriously.
