Spreading the dirt

This morning I decided that I would set some seeds going so  I brought a pile of plant pots into the kitchen and gave them all a good scrub. Then I decided I would try a new way of sowing my seeds. This year I am trying to grow them on some damp kitchen paper.  I remember growing cress that way so figured it just might work..I always sow far too many so this way I can actually see how many seeds I have sprinkled.  I've sown dahlia, cosmos, pansies, purple podded climbing beans, courgettes, peppers and tomatoes.I also sowed some cress so that I can make egg and cress sandwiches.  Then I took cuttings from some of my houseplants and potted up loads of baby spider plants.  You should have seen the mess I had created when I finished.  It looked like an explosion in a garden centre

I've covered each saucer with cling film

The windowsill behind the sofa

Lovely, clean and ready to be re used

  1. How fun! I need to plant some seeds, but I just sprinkle them in the dirt.

  2. You are so organized and ambitious - I don't even plant seeds, I buy already part-grown sets, because my work is extra busy just when seeds need to go in, but sets are available later and grow fast. You have a great windowsill for starting seeds and growing plants.
