A nice little earner

Eight invigilators didn't turn up today so there was a bit of a panic reshuffling those of us who turned up. I was moved to do a couple of  'one to one's' and that pays a higher rate. Both exams were scheduled to have extra time but both students took a lot less time than had been allowed.  I still get paid the full amount so I am a happy bunny tonight. On the downside there was a three hour wait between the exams so to kill an hour a colleague and I went for a walk in the local park. The weather was glorious and we agreed that we will do that again if we have a long wait between exams. It's a nice little earner if you are looking for a bit of extra cash. If you are interested you might think about contacting your own local Uni to see if they are looking for invigilators

  1. That's excellent - both the extra money and the exercise during downtime. There are bright spots if we look for them.

    1. It's very sociable too due to the long waiting times between exams.

  2. Good for you! Every little bit of extra money helps. I went for a walk with my neighbor today, too.

  4. Local secondary schools also use invigilators for exams throughout the year (mock exams and GCSE/A level ) so check out their vacancy pages on their websites if you are interested in this sort of work. A large secondary school needs a big team of invigilators.
