Blimey the wind is howling around the house today, rain is forecast for later today and you can pretty much guarantee that it will come the minute I set foot out of the house.Yesterday we kind of expected torrential rain but only had a sharp downpour so it may well make up for it today. I hope you are all safe and dry and not affected by the floods. It's been absolutely horrible for a lot of people all over the country. We feel very lucky and have never been affected by excesses of any kind. Having said that there is a huge conifer tree on the land at the bottom of my garden. I have wondered many times just how far it would reach if it fell. It does sway and bend quite alarmingly when it is very windy and it is looking a bit sick. I am beginning to wonder if it might be dying.
It's almost seed planting season and I have been browsing some of my 'container gardening' books. We have loads of empty containers so this year might be the year that I create a lovely colourful container display. But of course then again it might not.
Lidl have their wonderful cheap colourful selection in , its never around for long
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate. I will have a look tomorrow.
DeleteI hadn't thought that the soil might be too wet to hold the tree roots. That is a real possibility but it will be a shame if it does die. Hope you have a lovely weekend. x
ReplyDeleteWindy and raining yet again here too. y thoughts have been turning to planning the garden too.
ReplyDeleteI'm patiently waiting for a warm day to get out and prune everything, its all sprouting and it shouldn't be. Watch the weather change to freezing the minute I prune. lol

Stay safe in the storms, Cherie. I hope your big tree survives - or if it comes done, that it doesn't harm anything or anyone. The fury of Mother Nature can be frightening.
ReplyDeleteIt might be worth getting a tree specialist to look at that conifer - maybe just for reassurance?
