A thoroughly lovely evening with friends

We had a thoroughly lovely evening yesterday when we had friends over for a social evening and buffet. I am well impressed with the range of Party Food's from Asda that you can just pop in the oven and serve up. The little steak pies were beautiful. Nicely filled and with very moreish gravy and lovely, light crispy pastry. We also had mini pulled beef wellingtons, garlic mushrooms and all the usual crisps and nuts. I had cut a large pineapple into big chunks on the morning and scattered a little bit of lavender sugar over it.  By the time it was served up it was gorgeous. The Baileys double cream from Aldi's was a perfect topping for the mince pies. We can definitely recommend it.  I bet it would be lovely on top of hot chocolate instead of your normal double cream.
I thought that would be our last social event this year but my friend Jayne text yesterday to say that she is having a bit of a party on the 28th. Jayne always puts a lovely spread on and her family are great fun.
Tony and I are planning on having a thoroughly lazy day today so I will take this opportunity to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and kind New Year. I hope 2019 is a wonderful year for you all and I look forward to reading all your smashing blogs next year.
