I thought I had done really well yesterday morning when I had a little destash of my crafting space. BUT THEN...……… yesterday afternoon there was a knock at the door. One of my neighbours was standing there with a huge bag and a box filled with paper crafting medium.... Could I find a use for them........ Well what do you think? My eyes lit up like a kid in a sweetshop.... Thankfully I had already arranged with a friend of mine to make some gifts and cards for refugees. Her church is trying to make things for Syrian refugees that have arrived with nothing. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to leave your home, friends and family and move to a different country with only the clothes you are standing up in.... And then to be met with hostility.... my heart aches for the mothers with small children. I have worked with refugees before and all they hope for is to one day return to their home countries with their families.... I am sick to death of the bad press that these poor souls receive. All I would like to say is 'put yourself in that situation'. What would you do and where would you go with your children if war is raging all around you?
What a lovely collection of things to receive for free -- and what a lovely plan you have for using them.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a generous neighbour. I can't imagine the pain and heartache these families go through, I wish I could do more.
