What a nice time I had yesterday evening. A lady who is new to our local area came over to learn how to make earrings and try her hand at beading. Crikey, what a fast learner she is. I can see her developing this as a new hobby which will keep her busy when she has a bit of spare time. Josie is the sort of person that you feel as though you have known all your life. There was no awkwardness at all and her husband seems to be just the same sort of man. They are going to settle in well and will make loads of friends before they know it.
It's ages since I last did any beading and it was fun to pull a few bits from stash to show as samples of the things that can be made. I tried to find a mixed selection to show different techniques. There are simple charms on hooks, beadwork, paper stuck onto card and glued onto stud earrings (union flag). And then there are my Shaun the Sheep which I made from fimo.It has made me want to get the fimo out of the stash and have a play with it
As you can see by the goldfish and the poodles, I like earrings that don't match. It's fun and quirky without being over the top
