A new knitting project

This morning my oldest dearest friend sent me a text asking if I was home..... Well to cut a long story short Margaret came over and we spent the whole day knitting and chatting and generally putting the world to right. We stopped for a bit of lunch and a delicious piece of caramel shortbread before continuing working alongside one another. Margaret and I have crafted together for nearly thirty  years and she has been the rock that I leaned on more times than I care to remember. We used to craft together every week but work commitments and family gradually took over.  Well, today we decided that we will make the time to spend a whole day crafting at least once each month. I wasn't sure what I fancied knitting and decided to knit a shawl but make up the pattern as I went along.  I am using one of the lovely Mandala yarn cakes and I'm really pleased with how it looks so far.

  1. That's beautiful, Cherie. I love your pattern, and the yarn is lovely. How fun to knit with your close friend. Sounds wonderful.

  2. It's too easy to let friendships slide sometimes. Good for both of you for making plans to keep up with each other.

I think I would enjoy a crafting buddy. I belong to a group but it's not the same. I don't know anyone nearby who would want to meet one-on-one but now I'll keep my mind open to the possibility - you never know who might come along.

  3. That's going to be very pretty Cherie and I love the colours.

  4. That is so pretty, what a beautiful pattern.
