PPI.. WOO HOOO

For years we have been pestered with phone calls about PPI.  Last year I suggested that Tony applies for it himself without using one of the PPI people... He contacted his two banks and one replied that he had not been mis sold PPI... Oh well, nothing lost, nothing gained we thought. ,.. The second bank was looking into it... We haven't heard anything back from them... Anyway, some time ago I was reading a post on a blog that said she had tried several times before eventually getting in touch with one of the PPI firms...  I suggested that Tony contacts one of them to see if they could get a result...   They have just managed to secure £159 from the bank that said we hadn't been mis sold PPI... They are waiting to hear back from the second bank. Now I know that £159 is not a vast amount of money and we had to pay about 33% or thereabouts to the PPI firm but it is money that we would not have  had.  If you had no luck trying on your own then I would strongly recommend that you let a PPI firm sort it for you. You have nothing to lose and possibly a pleasant little surprise if they can get you a payment. (how many times did I type PPI in this post)  :-)

    1. It is payment protection insurance... It was virtually forced on anyone applying for a loan or mortgage. Banks etc are now having to pay back the payments as it may have been unfairly sold to clients

  2. Persevere, we did and got a nice cheque in the post. If you are able to do it yourself you won't have to pay the fees which can be as much as a third. Good luck.
