Even better than an absolute bargain

Yesterday Tony and I had a really long walk along earth paths through the fields full of wheat in my local area. He hasn't walked this particular walk before and was worn out by the time we got home.

When we set off we realised that there was a little supermarket being opened just around the corner from our house.  The new owners had hired a couple of bouncy castles. They had a huge (and very nice) cake to share. There was also a little charity stall selling 'junk'..... Tony bought me this nice little leather satchel for 50p. It is great quality and I quite fancy trying my hand at 'tooling' it.  There are some nice videos on you tube.

Last night was of course Ceilidh night.  We had a great time and as usual we didn't sit out a single dance  One of the regular ceilidh goers had been 'bargain shopping' while he waited for the ceilidh. He had turned up a little early so popped into a local supermarket. His car boot was filled with all manner of food bargains... Look what he gave me... and wouldn't let me pay a penny towards it.

Look at the label on the onions

The ceilidh has a 'shared supper'. This means that everyone who comes brings a plate of food to share. At the end of the night there is always a lot left over and those who are still there are asked to share it out and take it home... Look what I got.. A punnet of red and green grapes

  1. bargains indeed. I have seen some strange labelling in Tesco on the odd occasion. I scored a huge joint of beef that was labelled cauliflower and reduced to 15p. It went through the till and the operator did not bat an eyelid.

  2. What great bargains - we never, ever get prices that low in any of our stores. I wonder if they just can't be bothered re-pricing it and throw it out instead.
