A lovely refreshing downpour.

After a thoroughly lovely day out we finished off with a meal over in Great Ayton.  The food was lovely and the service good. Sweet young girls as thin as wisps of thistledown waited on the tables and nothing was too much trouble for them..... I was that thin too when I was their age... Oh the fleetingness of youth
We had a few good downpours last night and oh boy does the garden look wonderful this morning. Every bit of green looks sparkling and it sets off the flowers beautifully.  I am heading out for a walk soon but when I get back I will give you a little tour of the back garden.. The lilies look incredible and the lavender is covered with fuzzy bees and butterflies.

    1. Such a pity you can't smell the flowers. They really are very perfumed

  2. Envious, we haven’t had rain since 5 June. The garden is yellow and parched where it is still alive. It’s too big to water, the waterbutts were empty within a week. Trying not to get upset about it.

    1. We haven't had a lot of rain either with the exception of a couple of really good downpours. My garden has really perked up after the rain we had last night.

    1. It rained again last night. Usually we don't want it to rain but oh boy are we glad to see it just lately

  4. It's surprising what one rain will do. Plants will perk right up most of the time.

I was that thin when I was young, too. Right up until I had two young kids at home and tired all the time and discovered I could eat chocolate chips from the bag for energy and no one would be the wiser . . . how many times since then have I wished I had never discovered that vice!

    1. I could eat anything and not gain an ounce back then... Now I only have to walk past a packet of crisps and the calories leap into my body.
