A hint of summer colour

The garden is starting to wake up nicely now.  The colours are beautiful and the birdsong is amazing.  I love to sit out in the garden with a cup of tea and a good book.  My friend Joan and I enjoy a good natter sitting on my garden bench surrounded by the pretty flowers in my garden.  The purple rose smells divine and the petunia is an incredible shade of purple spotted with white. I think it is called starry night... or something along those lines. Yesterday I removed the lower branches from one of the rosemary bushes as it is threatening a take over bid on its little patch.  I have revealed the soil underneath so that the spring bulbs will have chance to shine next year. The lavender in the back garden smells incredible.  I placed some pillowcases over it to dry yesterday. They smell fabulous in the laundry pile.

  1. I feel like I can smell the fragrance from here. I never though of using a pillow case for drying lavender. Thanks for the tip.

    1. Hi Stephanie. I actually laid the pillowcases on top of the lavender instead of pegging them on the line. It was a great way to make them smell gorgeous.....

  2. Love those Petunias. We had them last year in purple and pink and they looked stunning.
