Crikey it's turned cold

I had to flick the heating on this morning as it was rather chilly.  We've not needed it on in ages. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we don't get a late frost as I've planted all manner of flowers and veg outside.  My yellow indoors GreenStalk is coming on a treat and hopefully I'll be picking  mini cucumbers this time next week.  My courgettes of all varieties are popping through now and hopefully I'll be able to grow mini watermelon this year. I've got three promising looking seedlings.

I'm growing sweet potatoes for the first time this year and hopefully will have a decent harvest in the autumn if we get a good hot summer

  1. Thank you for the little tour of your garden plants. I have things growing and others that I'm waiting to see sprout. I go outside 2 or 3 times a day to check on them, my neighbors probably think I'm nuts, but they bring me such joy, especially when I see a new tiny sprout popping through the earth.
    Happy gardening :)

  2. It's definitely cooler in Yorkshire right now. Good old British weather! I don't trust it until June.

  3. my sweet potatoes have been a huge failure this year , i always manage to grow my own slips from supermarket ones , not a sprout on any of them , i would imagine theyve been treated with something at source...ho hum

    1. The supermarket sweet potatoes did absolutely nothing but the ones that I bought from an Asian supermarket are really coming along nicely.

It's turned colder here again. I did turn up my heat this morning. I'm struggling with a cold and I just felt really chilly this morning.

    1. It's the time of year when the weather doesn't know what to do. Certainly keeping me guessing.
