On Monday Tony and I nipped into town where I transferred my share of the coming years bills to his account. I figured it was easier to do it in one big lump then all I need think about for the rest of the year is grocery shopping and unexpected expenses. On the way back I handed him my debit card and insisted he fill the car up with diesel. I'm so glad that he listened as overnight the fuel price jumped by 4p a litre from £1.36 to £1.40. Our local Tesco garage seems to have the cheapest fuel in the area but we both smiled and recalled when it didn't cost that for a gallon let alone a litre. While we were in town I did a big meat shop at a little butchers so I'm now well ahead of expensive stuff for the foreseeable future. My finances are looking really strong and it's all down to really good money management. I'm so pleased that I learned the art of being frugal when I was young.
It's a crazy world we live in. I'm not panicking buying anything as I'm stocked up and have no room to store more even if I wanted to. It's another good drying day too
ReplyDeleteI'm lucky enough to have space to grow our fruit and veg. I've everything we need to keep us fed if any shortages or price hikes hit the shops.
DeleteI also topped up with fuel on Monday, the price hadn't gone up, but the queues were long. I can also make a little food go a long way, but think my generation (late 60's/early70's) were bought up to do that, plus we were also taught HE in school. Xx
ReplyDeleteIt's gone up even more since Tuesday. Tony's going to fill up again today and we'll notice a big price hike.
DeleteOur petrol is always jumping around. It's really quite high now. I think it might influence where we go on our Sunday Adventures sigh.
ReplyDeleteTony is being a bit more Frugal with his fuel use now.
DeleteThat's nice that you filled the tank. Glad you got the meat you needed. Here's to saving money. Cheers, Ivy
ReplyDeleteIt's jumped on price again. We're being careful to keep the tank full in case of a real emergency.
