Jigsaw number 5

We're having to nip to B and Q for some chicken wire today. Nothing I put on the garden is stopping the local cats from using my vegetable patch as a toilet. They've c****ed in among my garlic this morning.  Grrrrr.

Jigsaw number 5 is finished and it's a charity shop one so we half expected a missing piece or two. We're delighted to have a complete one.

  1. Hubby put plastic plumbing pipes in the corners of my raised beds, I then use the flexible pipes to make an arch at each end, which allows me to drape a net over, it has stopped the cats and the pigeons, it's tall enough to allow the veg to grow, I found using a black pea net works, the net disappears unlike the green one which you can see and easy to remove.

    1. I've done that in the back garden but the problem is the front garden where I grow a lot of flowers and veg together. We've been out and bought a roll of green chicken wire. It'll look tidy and still allow the flowers to grow through.

  2. Well done on the puzzle finish! I must admit that I'm a little weary about buying them at charity shops for exactly that reason!

    1. We rarely buy them from charity shops but kind of expect missing pieces when we do.

  3. Re the cat problem, we scatter spent coffee grounds, tea leaves, banana skins, citrus peel, any small broken up twigs, grass clippings, small privet clippings, clean straw & hay around the garden and it seems to work OK. Jan in the Midlands

    1. I've tried it all Jan but nothing is working. The cats are driving my neighbours mad too. It's so blimmin unfair that we have to put up with it.

  4. It's always a gamble buying a jigsaw from a charity shop. So far we have had all complete ones. If there is only one piece missing, my hubby will make a new piece to fit.
