Well yesterday was the end of an era. I've finally retired from invigilating. It was a little sad to know that I was using my pass for the final time but I actually feel retired at long last. I was given a lovely card which I'll keep for a little while. I'm trying not to keep cards anymore and recently got rid of pretty much all my old ones. It's hard letting go of sentimental things but I asked Tony to throw them in the recycle bin for me. We're thinking of booking a little break in Dorset or Norfolk when the kids go back after half term. My garden won't need any attention at this time of year and I feel comfortable leaving it.
Happy retirement Cherie

Congratulations on your retirement! Have fun! Looking forward to hearing about your travels and escapades going forward. You're very inspiring. All the best Blods ( long time reader) x
ReplyDeleteThanks you Blods. I'm flattered by your lovely comment.
DeleteYou are so right, it is really hard to let go of sentimental things. I have been pruning loads of cards and old photos recently. It has made me feel both sad and pleased. Book your break and enjoy your freedom!

It's the sentimental things that are the hardest to part with aren't they.
DeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds as though you have a lot to keep you busy and so much you enjoy doing. I'm sure it will be a little adjustment though. Good for you for not keeping the cards! I have just started snapping a photo of them if I don't feel I can let go completely.
Thanks Sharon. I'm hoping to improve my photography skills
DeleteHappy retirement, Cherie! I just know you'll make the most of it. X
