I thoroughly enjoyed the airfryer workshop this morning and we got to eat the end product which the young lady called fritatta. In truth it was more a mini omelette but delicious non the less. It hammered down with rain on my way home and I was glad of the rain hat but probably looked like Miss Marple wandering home. Tea tonight is a lovely beef and veg stew. The veg all fresh picked from my garden minutes before it was cooked. It's currently simmering away on the stove and will be absolutely delicious by the time Tony gets home.
In the stew there's celeriac, Swiss chard, patty pan squash and carrots. I also used onions and potatoes from my store and a handful of fresh picked green beans. I used shop bought garlic as I don't have any left.
I'm chuffed to bits to see that my spring onions are starting to sprout in the front garden. The different coloured beetroot and carrots have been through for a while so I was beginning to wonder whether I'd forgotten to sow the onions. The variety I'm growing has red stalks and should look really pretty in the garden through the winter.

nothing better than a veggie stew.....I know yours had beef in it, we tend to eat very little meat nowadays. Your veggies look lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe stew was delicious. I've made many a vegetable soup too and they're really tasty.
DeleteYour garden is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love frittata, and yours sounds wonderful
Thank you. It's my happy place.
DeleteIt's so relatable to get soaked in the rain and feel like a character from a movie, haha. Your beef and veggie stew sounds absolutely delicious, especially with everything fresh from your garden. I bet it smells amazing. It's so cool that you're growing your own food like that. I'm so impressed. The red-stalked spring onions sound beautiful, too. What's your favorite thing to grow?
ReplyDeleteI think my favourite thing is carrots. There is absolutely nothing more delicious than a fresh picked carrot. Having said that I've grown some delicious tomatoes this year so they're a very close second.
