Last night Tony and I went to see Downton at the local cinema. We went for a good long walk along the promenade first before heading back to the cinema. The film was kind of as we expected and definitely worth watching if you're a Downton fan.
We're having new vinyl flooring layed in the conservatory on Thursday so today I've been busy emptying it. I've given the china cabinet a thoroughly good clean followed with a good buff with beeswax polish. It looks beautiful now and I really should buff it more often. Wax polish gives such a nice sheen to wood. It smells of lavender although it'll soon disappear.
On Friday we have a new fridge freezer coming. We've paid quite a bit more for this than our last one and it comes with a ten year parts and labour warranty. It's not a brand we'd heard of Liebherr but the write up is really good. If a company is prepared to offer such a great warranty then we feel it's definitely worth the money.
We're off to carving club tonight and I can talk all things veg with Jim.
Glad you had a good time! Sounds like you're getting lots done around the house. Have fun at Carving Club
ReplyDeleteI'll be glad to get the house put straight today. It looks like a junk shop with everything packed in.
DeleteI have been wanting to go see the new Downton movie! I will have to check it out this week. Sounds like you have some fun home projects going on. I am actually having my carpets cleaned this afternoon. Have fun at your carving club!
ReplyDeleteDownton was a welcome change from all the nasty violent stuff that we've watched recently. They don't seem to make anything that doesn't involve murder or unpleasant people any more.
