Well I bet that made you splutter your coffee. Last night Tony and I went to a 1940s event where we were taught the basic swing dance moves. The tiny hall was packed out and everyone got up and gave it a go. Tony can be a grumpy old so and so but I'll give him his due, he's great fun to go out with. He isn't one of those blokes who need to get tanked up with alcohol in order to get up and dance. In fact he never touches a drop if he's driving and as our nights out are mostly in little village halls he has to drive to get there. Now we want to learn more and we intend to look out for other similar events. There's a ceilidh at our favourite venue next Saturday and we'll be up dancing all night. We'd go every weekend if they were on. It's certainly a good way to keep fit.
lol! My husband and I took a six-week dancing course years and years ago. Every week was a different style. It was a lot of fun; I just wish there had been somewhere we could have gone on a regular basis to practice and get better at it. You're right that it's great exercise.
ReplyDeleteWe'd love to go to an old fashioned dance hall and learn to dance like they did back in the 40s and 50s.
DeleteThat sounds such fun - so glad you both had a good time.

Thanks Wendy. It was a cracking night out.

ReplyDeleteDoes sound like a lot of fun though!
Sounds like you had a great evening. I hope you can find some other similar events near by so that you can enjoy this type of dancing more often.
