Growing grapes

 This morning I net bagged most of the bunches of grapes on my grapevine.  I think I counted 27 bunches. I've left a couple of bunches unnetted for the birds as they'll be glad of them later in the season. I was surprised to see that they're already turning purple so it was a good job that my net bags arrived.  I should have bought bigger bags though as the bunches of grapes are much bigger than last years. Probably because I cut more than half the bunches off as soon as I saw them growing.  If you've a sunny wall or fence it's well worth growing a vine. The leaves turn a beautiful crimson in autumn. They're vigorous plants though so make sure you show it who's boss and give it a good hair cut if it's getting a bit naughty.
