It's been a busy weekend for Tony and me. We've spent the past two days wandering around gardens in beautiful Appleton Wiske and last night was our final ceilidh until September. Unfortunately I've been so poorly with a chest infection that I didn't enjoy the gardens or the ceilidh as much as I would have done had I been well. I've noticed that the heat affects my dodgy leg badly and I struggle to walk any distance so we did half the gardens yesterday and the other half today.. I left a couple of plants for one of the participants in Appleton Wiske. We garden lovers like to share our surplus don't we.
In August we're having a weekend in Hull so that we can visit the open gardens in Preston village and explore Hull. We might even book a bit longer stay if we like it there. Next year we intend to visit lots of open gardens all over Britain and we've plans to stay in little guest houses and small hotels. It's a great way to see this beautiful country of ours. If you know of any open gardens in your area please let me know. We're making a list.

Lovely garden. Hope you feel better, soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bless. I'm surprised it's lingering this long.
DeleteSorry you are feeling so unwell in this heatwave. The photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteWendy (Wales)
Thanks Wendy. It's cooler today and perhaps I'll manage to sleep without coughing all night
DeleteI'm so sorry you haven't been feeling well. Hopefully you'll feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThe gardens look wonderful!
Thanks Sharon. It feels worse as the day goes on. Hopefully not for much longer.
DeleteGet well soon, Cherie! those gardens looked lovely, its a shame you weren't well enough to appreciate them properly.
ReplyDeleteI'm the opposite to you, my dodgy hip only plays up in the cold. Aren't humans weird? xxx
My good hip grumbles when it's cold. I'm getting old and grumpy.
DeleteSorry you weren't able to enjoy the gardens or ceilidh as much as you would have liked and the hot weather has not been good for your leg. I do hope the weather is better for you today. I've never been to Hull so I will be interested to hear about your visit in August. It sounds like you have some great plans for next year.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm hoping that I'm through the worst of it.
