I'm getting so much enjoyment from my garden at the moment. It's such a welcome place to sit and relax when I've been to visit my friend in hospital. The doctors have finally confirmed that the cancer is in her lungs and her sternum. The deterioration in her is heartbreaking. I can hardly believe that up until September last year we walked every morning and played five games of rummikub every day. Please folks don't take good health for granted. Particularly as we get older. Enjoy the little pleasures that you find in each day. Tony and I had a lovely evening at our friends last night. It made a welcome change from talks of illness and hospice care.

Dealing with support for my brother. It's hard to see the change and the pain. Your garden is a beautiful respite.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam.
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your friend's diagnosis, and I can guess the prognosis. You are right - every day is a gift we need to treasure. Your flowers are lovely. It's still too early for anything to bloom here. We will have frost warnings until mid-June if this year is like every other year.
ReplyDeleteApril is often very cold at night so I'm keeping all my seedlings indoors at night.
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your friend's diagnosis.
ReplyDeleteMy BIL has been battling cancer. I think it is things like this that make us want to work harder to get husband retired sooner rather than later. You never know what's around the corner and must enjoy life when you can.
I'm glad you are finding joy in your garden. It certainly looks lovely
I was so pleased when Tony retired.

DeleteYour garden is looking gorgeous, Cherie. I'm glad you can find solace there at this sad time. Caring for someone can be incredibly difficult.
