Over the past fortnight Tony and I have been bitten all around our ankles and up and down our arms. The itch is driving us both to distraction. Annoyingly we can't see what is doing the biting and only know it's happened when the itch starts. I have big red blotches the size of a two pence piece all down my right arm and it's driving me crazy. Oddly enough Tony has been bitten down his left arm. I don't normally suffer from biting insects but poor Tony gets chewed alive most years.
We're going to a model railway show today and might even fit a second one in as it's not too far from the first. I love looking at the layouts and seeing the incredible skill of the railway modellers. Last year we made a long weekend of it and stayed in a pretty little village pub. If you know of any uk shows near you I'd love to hear about them. We're always keen to visit different ones.
My friend Marian is back in hospital. She'd had difficulty breathing on Friday night and was admitted to our local hospital. At least I know she's getting the regular attention that she needs but I'm wondering if it's time to move into a care home. The thought of her becoming unwell while she's all alone worries me no end and of course we can't be there 24/7. It's an awful situation and one I would never have foreseen coming.
I'm sorry to read that your friend is back in the hospital. I hope she will be well enough to go home soon. It does sound like she might need more round the clock care once she is released from the hospital.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bless.
DeleteI tend to get chewed to pieces my little bugs as well. Needless to say, working on the pond I already have been lunch for a few of them.
ReplyDeleteI can understand your worries about your friend being on her own and what might happen. For now she is in the best place and I hope the right decision is made for her ongoing care.
She's declining rapidly and it's heartbreaking to watch such an active vibrant person fade away
DeleteAck sorry to hear about the itch! Do you know when it's happening?
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry to hear about your friend. Such a worry. How does she feel about a care home? Would it be temporary?
I think if Marian were into a care home it would be permanent. In truth I'd feel more comfortable knowing she had 24 hour care at hand
