Tony and I had planned to go out for lunch on Wednesday. Then he weighed himself and discovered that he's gaining again so we've put on hold any meals out. Whoever loses a half stone first will enjoy a meal at the other person's expense. It'll motivate Tony as he can be really competitive and if he's motivated there's less chance of me falling off the wagon. I'm chuffed to bits to be able to say that I've lost nearly 1lb this past week. That's 6lb since New year's day which is brilliant news for me. I'm aiming for 1lb each week though I'm realistic enough to know that some weeks will be considerably less than that.
The money we've saved by not having a meal out was spent on plenty of good meat and salad ingredients. I bought diced lamb, braising steak and pork shoulder steaks. This evening I cooked two of the steaks long and slow then served them with salad. The other two will make a nice beef curry which will do two days. The lamb is earmarked for a balti and there's four pork shoulder steaks which can be used in a multitude of ways. Being a domestic goddess ☺ I've cooked a really tasty chicken and veg soup for tomorrow as my friend Ann is coming for a light lunch and an afternoon of cribbage.
Good for you on the weight loss! I suppose the 'bet' will be a bit of incentive. ha ha
