We've just been to visit our friends and I'm blown away with the chicken setup that they have. They have seven hens and are averaging a dozen eggs each day. The chickens are still very young and will probably settle into an egg each day but they certainly are paying for their upkeep.
Chickens are so much fun! I used to keep them at the cottage. Their manure really does help the garden and backyard orchard.

ReplyDeleteThey eat bugs and bits..and then poop, lovely manure for the garden. We can't have them here, sadly. But then the foxes or coyotes would get them if they aren't locked up. But, really a wonderful way to go in a home garden. Sandi
