All the overeating of the past few days caught up with us both today and we've felt really lethargic and icky. The weather hasn't helped as it's been grey all day. It was flipping freezing when I went out for my walk this morning and I was glad to get home.
I had intended to go through my seed box and send some off to Sooze and Lulu today but I just couldn't face it. I'm sure I'll feel up to it tomorrow as we've had a lovely fresh salad for tea. My poor body just isn't used to eating processed carbs and I was so pleased that our friends had considered our low carb diet when cooking for us yesterday. Our other friends had done the same when we were invited to their house the other week. We are so lucky to have such thoughtful kind friends. It's my own fault really but I could hardly turn down a slice of birthday cake with my coffee before I returned home from my friend Ann's yesterday. The carb fest that she'd prepared for our supper on Sunday was delicious but not something I should have eaten. It would have been so rude of me to say I couldn't eat it so I did knowing I'd suffer for it later. Please folks, if your friends aren't eating carbs feed them something they can eat. It's an awful situation to be placed in.
Sorry to read you're both suffering, hope some good protein and green veggies days will sort you both out. We've overindulged too on cakes recently, due to visits from friends - back to healthy low carb stuff for us too. It's difficult when you're eating at someone else's home isn't it - I don't like to make a fuss but at the same time I really don't want to eat meat or high carb things either. It's hard to know what to do without upsetting your hosts. A particular friend, who knows I'm mostly vegetarian, often gives me some fake meat veggie thing - I'd much rather just have a plate of veggies and have told them that, but they still feel they have to give me some ultra processed veg thing. Hope you both feel better very soon Cherie xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sooze. A couple of lovely low carb meals have sorted us out.
DeleteHopefully you'll feel better in a few days!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon. We're much better today.
DeleteWell done for walking in the colder weather.
ReplyDeleteWe've had rain again! The ground is quite soggy!
All the best Jan
I don't mind the cold but hate walking in cold winter rain
DeleteIt can make us feel so very uncomfortable, can't it? It should all settle again soon but it's so hard to avoid the UP stuff, isn't it? xx
ReplyDeleteIt's always so flipping yummy isn't it
DeleteOh bless you thinking about seeds for me Cherie, but worry not! Always an awquard situation when there's food and drink at a gathering that you're not supposed to have. Have you considered carrying a simple emergency carrot around with you in your pocket? ;) xXXx
