A bit of a spend

Yesterday because I was working all day I did a simple stir fry for tea. I shredded some white cabbage, a small yellow pepper and some onions and stir fried them in olive oil and butter. I cooked a jug full of broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and peas in the microwave and when they were done I tossed them into the pan. I crushed half a stock cube into a little bit of water and stirred that through all the vegetables in the pan. Gave it all a good sprinkle with cayenne pepper then just before serving I chucked in a bowl full of big prawns.  It was absolutely delicious and Tony has requested it again. But let me backtrack.

When I came in from work we had a quick cuppa before going out to buy a new tumble dryer. Tony's face was a picture when I asked the man about buying a small microwave.  Having bought the airfryer recently I realised just how useful my old microwave had been.  I  bought the microwave and we brought it home with us. Tony bought the dryer which is being delivered tomorrow. Our old one is over 22 years old and has started to get a bit too hot. We don't want it to go up in flames so thought it best to buy another.

My student has finished the exam in 35 minutes instead of the allotted two and a half hours.. plus extra time if needed.  I'm waiting for Tony to pick me up. It means I get to play whist this afternoon.  How's your week been?

  1. That sounds absolutely and totally delicious!

I don't think I would want to manage without my microwave. It's small and basic and it's so useful.
