I'm currently invigilating a three hour exam and then Tony and I are going to have a walk around town to see if there's anything we need. Tony's invigilating too in a different room and I'm sure the change of scene will do him the world of good. He really needs to find something to fill his time now that he's retired as we're starting to get on each other nerves. He's getting very grumpy with me and it's starting to wear me down. I think I probably need to spend a lot more time crafting and keeping out of his way when he's feeling tetchy. The rotten weather isn't helping as it's so dark and dreary. I might invest in one of those lights that supposedly get rid of the seasonal mood change. It's worth a shot if it'll improve his mood. I've given up suggesting things he might like to do but worry that he'll end up depressed. Life's a bit tough at the moment.
Hugs for you Cherie. My husband retires in a couple of years time so I'll see how that goes then x
ReplyDeleteI was so looking forward to him retiring.
DeleteSo sorry. Hard as it is, probably better to let him figure it out. Sometimes people just get resistant when they're offered ideas.
ReplyDeleteHe'll never move off the sofa if I don't prod him. 😔
DeleteI so empathise, Cherie. I could cheerfully have strangled mine today, he made me so cross.
ReplyDeleteI struggle to keep my temper sometimes.
DeleteI'm sure I posted a comment here. How odd. Sorry - I haven't been ignoring you. xx
ReplyDeleteRetirement can be a bit of a shock to some people. My dad worked super hard all his life so when he retired he didn't know what to do with himself and got into a bit of a depression. This drove my mum potty - as she - like you - has bags of energy, is very creative and always has projects on the go (of course she loved retirement!). I tell you this as things did improve. To start with mam dragged dad out to various things but gradually he started to find his own hobbies, pattern and pace xXx
