Absolutely fuming

Tony and I popped out to Northallerton today. The butcher there has fantastic meat and pastries and we like to stock up when we are over that way.  There's also a stall that sells the most amazing feta and olives. I've bought them there in the past and my eyes bleed at the cost but I treat them as a special treat. While choosing some olives and feta the stall holder asked if I'd like to add another olive and make it a straight £5. I agreed and handed over the money. Then I glanced at the digital scale..... £3.57. When I pointed out his mistake he glowered at me and sullenly handed over £1.50. Now I'm wondering if he's always overcharged me as he always offers to add another olive and round up the price.  I'll never buy from him again.  Grrrrrrr.

And on a brighter note I've been looking for some smallish mugs that don't have a rim as thick as a public toilet. Couldn't find any anywhere so tried the charity shop and look what I found.. A set of six cups and saucers with matching bowls for £8. I wasn't looking for cups and saucers but these are lovely and exactly the size I was looking for. And the bowls are just the perfect size. My current bowls are enormous and it's far too easy to overeat.

And look what we found in B and M. They'll be perfect for serving  veg on our Christmas table

  2. That is so annoying. They're shooting themselves in the foot, though, as you won't be the only one who notices and doesn't go back. What a [insert very rude word here]

Those cups and sauces are so beautiful and a great find so I hope that they make up for that awful stall holder.

  3. Really love the cups and saucers. I have noticed that mugs have become so thick around the rim, why is that? You are ready for those Christmas veggies too! Take care!

    1. Crazy that the online form to make the complaint is only available from Friday to Monday. I bet many people just don't bother to complain
