Please can I say a huge thank you for your kind words of support. Even people that haven't commented before have taken the time to leave a little message. I so appreciate your kindness. Life is now back to normal and we're plodding along once again. Yesterday we had a massive cleaning session and everything looks all sparkly and spruced up. The porch has had most of the plants removed leaving only a cucumber, a chilli and a patty pan squash. It's too late for the patty pan but it's so healthy that I can't bring myself to discard it. Maybe I'll get some fruit off it but I doubt it. The chilli I'm planning on overwintering and I intend to sow a couple of patio chilli's and keep them on the windowsill. They should look lovely all winter if they germinate. At carving club I was given some gorgeous yellow tomatoes last night. The flavour is superb and I will definitely grow them next year if I can find out what variety they are.
Now that the porch is almost empty I've space for my comfy chair. It's warm and bright in here so the heating won't be going on unless it's very cold. Gotta keep some warmth in the house or black mould will develop. The signal in the porch is usually good for the phone so I'll be able to leave comments on all your blogs. Have a lovely day everyone.
I have a plant that is giving me huge yellow beef-style tomatoes and they are lovely. I have no idea what they are as it was a gift plant but there seem to be plenty of different kinds. xx
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any huge yellow 🍅. I bet they look amazing. I've loved seeing the courgette flowers in the garden. They really do light up the veg plot.
DeleteOur veg growing was a complete disaster this year - a few beetroot and some spuds and the rest was eaten alive by slugs! xxx
ReplyDeleteI've resorted to putting slug pellets on my raised beds this year. I don't like using them but I was suffering too much slug and snail damage. They are the size of tube trains this year.
DeletePleased to read that life is getting back to normal for you.
ReplyDeleteTake care, my good wishes.
All the best Jan
Good to hear you have a good 'hot spot' (in more ways then one) ;) x
