Harrogate autumn flower show

Today on the spur of the moment we decided to go to the autumn flower show. It's now held in Ripon at Newby Hall and the entrance price included a tour of the downstairs part of Newby Hall. Oh my goodness it's been a beautiful house in it's time. There was none of that dingy dark wood paneling and beautiful floral creations filled each room downstairs

The panel below is repeated a through the house and the ceilings are all incredible works of art.

The arch above the door is absolutely stunning and my photos really don't do it justice.

  1. I was taken on a tour of Newby Hall by my mom, as a kid. Beautiful place, hard for me to believe it was somebody's house!

    1. It's one of the nicest big houses that we've seen. I'd love to see upstairs but that wasn't open to the public.

  4. The architecture is delicious, but the flowers are amazing. The magenta fire place is so drippy, lovely, cool! Thanks for sharing! sandi
