Tony and I have been for a drive out today to beautiful Whitby. Whitby is the legendary home of Count Dracula and is steeped in history. It's a beautiful harbour town and we've been there many times and have stayed overnight a few times too.
A lovely couple who are on holiday from Essex took this photo of us underneath the world famous whale bones. That's Whitby Abbey in the background.

Hello Cherie. I think hubby and I will be visiting the NE at the end of October for a few days so may revisit Whitby. I have only been there once before but very much enjoyed it. I was very sorry to hear of your friend and neighbours passing last week and I'm glad she wasn't alone.
ReplyDeleteLooking back I hope you had a lovely birthday. August is a busy birthday month in this family too!! And that means lots of cake and no diet :-)
Did you get you stairs and hall finished? I'm still painting our hall and will be glad to get it finished.
Your garden is looking good , mine is a little ragid round the edges at the moment so it needs a bit of TLC. Have a great week.

If you have a parking disk you can park for free for three hours up on West Cliff. It's a steep walk down but the views are lovely. There's a free mini bus transport in place of the lift. I think it's a 15 minute wait. Might be worth checking.
DeleteA super photo, really lovely. xx
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely photo! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great photograph of the two of you.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Oh lovely picture of you & Tony. I've always wanted to visit Whitby. I'm a Dracula fan, plus my brother tells me it has the best fish & chips. Should have done it when I lived up in Yorkshire, as now I'm miles away :0 x
