It's definitely 'big coat' weather today. My hands were freezing when I went for my early morning walk. Yesterday the weather was a real mixed bag with lovely warm sunshine all morning and torrential rain on and off all afternoon. Our friends Ken and Elaine popped round with some seedlings for me to take care of while they are on holiday. They are going to their house in France for three weeks and I gave them a tree kale and a pumpkin plant to pop in their garden there. The plants will take care of themselves and hopefully there will be ripe pumpkins when they go back in the autumn. Our neighbour was cutting her lawn when her lawnmower died so I used my strimmer to finish it off for her. Later on my friend Jayne called in with a large slice of homemade ginger cheesecake for Tony and I to share. It was blimmin lovely and filled me up so much that I wasn't hungry after eating it so did without tea. Rain is forecast so it'll be a day of housework today.
Off to carving club tonight so I've dug out a huge penstemon for a fellow carver. We've got quite a good little plant swap going and it's nice to have some new things to plant now and then.
It's chilled off here and the rein has started! Have a lovely time at carving club. xx
ReplyDeleteIt's raining cats & dogs here today Cherie! The ginger cheesecake sounds bloomin' lovely. Have fun wood carving :) x
ReplyDeleteOur weather is playing silly too, although it is Autumn. We actually had sunshine for a good part of yesterday, which has been unseen for most of April so far. The plant swapping sounds good. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice day with visits from friends! Enjoy carving club.
