Over the past two days we've had our old rotten garage roof replaced. We chose to have a fibreglass one and it's come with a 30 year warranty. That'll see us out. Annoyingly we are getting itchy feet again and seriously thinking of moving. We quite fancy Lincolnshire but as we know nothing about the area we wouldn't know which areas to avoid. Budget is around £200,000 and we'd be interested to know if that would buy us a 2 bed bungalow with a decent size garden. Any suggestions gratefully accepted. X
I don't know about prices, etc, but I do know bungalows are pretty premium - they are round here anyway!
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
The new roof sounds good. xx
the first ring of villages around lincoln are nice , north lincs barrow and goxhill , south lincolnshire is a bit dearer because of all the RAF bases . for That amount you might pick up something that needs a bit of work with a decent garden
ReplyDeleteAgree with Kate. Within a 10 - 15 mile radius of Lincoln there are lots of nice villages. If you go into North Lincolnshire you get further and further away from civilisation. With the water on two sides you are backed into a corner, and have to drive further before you hit a decent A road or a Motorway. depends what you want access to.
DeleteWe are wary of anywhere that floods as Lincoln is very flat.. or so I've been told.
DeleteThanks Kate. It's always useful to ask someone that knows an area.
DeleteGood to get your garage sorted, but I definitely can't help with suggestions for your possible move. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan. X
DeleteWe were like you and got itchy feet in Scotland ten years ago...we had lived there all our life... we came here to North Wales..Llandudno.. and have never regretted it for one minute. The people are genuine and friendly and welcoming and the area is beautiful and has so much to do. Great U3A. Lots of bungalows in town and around the coast. Good luck with whatever you choose to do..going or staying.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to live in Llandudno. We've stayed there a few time and loved it there.
DeleteThat's great news that you put on a new roof. I was so relieved that my roof was in excellent condition after this last storm. Hope you find what you are looking for in a bungalow and garden.
ReplyDeleteWe keep looking but very few take our fancy.
DeleteSo good that you got your garage roof sorted.
ReplyDeleteI don't know the Lincolnshire area.
You could perhaps have a look on Rightmove or Zoopla to see what properties are available and at what prices. Good luck in your search.
All the best Jan
I love the big open skies in Lincolnshire. I'm very much not a city person and the people we've met In Lincolnshire have all been lovely.
