Rubbing shoulders with criminals

Yesterday a friend rang to say we had rubbed shoulders with a criminal.  Apparently the lady on the table next to ours at the New Years Eve ceilidh was Ann Darwin.  She's half of the couple that faked his disappearance in a Canoe in the sea at Seaton Carew. We all refer to that town as Seaton Canoe  now. I'd wracked my brain at the time trying to think why I knew her face from somewhere.

Scam alert... I had a call tonight claiming to be from the repair department for social housing.. The number was from Ashford in Kent.  Please be careful folks.

  2. Oo-err! I don't think I've ever (knowingly) met a criminal.

  3. Oh, goodness . . . I guess she has paid her dues by now.
These scams can be wicked - playing to people's worries and difficulties. Evil.

  4. Scams are just too common these days & although I enjoy my blog & using technology for some things, I do believe it is the core of many troubling bits. Take care & hugs.

  5. Yes, that's true. It sounds like you are on the ball and have a strong intuition. I'll have to look up that story. There seems to be an incredible amount of lying these days. I just watched the Betty Broderick story on Netflix, and it was so depressing. Time to sing some songs and do some dances.
