Blue tits

It's the time of year when the birds start checking out the nest boxes in my garden again.  Tony saw some blue tits doing exactly that yesterday. It'll be lovely to watch them raise a little family and there's the choice of five different bixes for them to choose from.

We left the ceilidh early last night when Tony became unwell.  He was in a lot of pain poor love. To be honest the band wasn't to our taste and the caller was pretty rubbish so we weren't too bothered about cutting the night short. He's been OK through the night thank goodness and I'll take him a cuppa later this morning with a couple of paracetamol. We'll both be relieved when they get to the bottom of what's causing his illness...  or perhaps I should say condition as it's not really an illness. It's been so hard for him this past ten months and we just start to feel that he's on the mend when it hits him all over again.  Good health is something we kind of took for granted and it's come as a bit of a shock to us both.

  1. Is Tony getting repeated UTIs? That's what happened to my husband when he was diagnosed with a severely enlarged prostate, he got one urine infection after another, each course of anti-b's sort of cleared it but then it came back again just a couple of weeks later. I read up on it extensively and found that the medical advice (from respected urologists) was to first clear the infection completely with strong AB's, have a urine test to make sure the infection was gone, and then be put on a course of low-dose AB's for a period of several months.....this keeps the infection at bay. It worked in husband's case. Just a thought.

    1. That's exactly what he is suffering Sooze. He's going to relay your comment to his doctor on Monday and keep his fingers crossed that he'll listen

  3. Poor Tony. I hope he feels better soon and they work out the problem.

How lovely to see Blue Tits in the garden. I hope they choose a box to build in. It would be lovely to see some babies. Still too early to be even dreaming of that. The coldest days are yet to come. We still have several birds coming to the garden, but I do like it when Spring comes!
