This afternoon, Tony, myself and our neighbour Joan went to the 10 year marriage vow renewal of the couple across the road from us. It was the most beautiful moving thing to watch Emma cry as she repeated her vows to Mark. Following the lovely ceremony we all went to the local sports club for a party. We three came away early and left the young folk to party on and we're now in our jimjams with the fire lit and Strictly on. We're definitely getting old... :-)
Sounds healthy and cozy. I have been enjoying sitting by the fire, too. It's so relaxing.
ReplyDeleteThe very heavily carb and pizza based buffet probably wasn't the healthiest but it was a rare treat.
DeleteA ten year renewal sounds interesting & does that happen often in UK? We've still had the fire lit occasionally, even though we are well into Spring. So wet, but luckily no floods near us, but more in NSW, west & north Victoria and now northern Tasmania too. Weird weather! Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt's the first one we've ever been to. Which is usually your hottest month out there?
DeleteWe watched a bland Hallmark movie and had a cozy night in. I've been to vow renewals for 25, 30, etc. Ten seems like a short time period, but who knows what life dealt them and the feelings to recommitt publically.
ReplyDeleteThey'd had a registry office wedding ten years ago and at the time vowed to have their marriage blessed in church when they'd been married ten years. It was so lovely and we felt privileged to be invited.
DeleteOh you and Tony know how to party Cherie! The marriage renewal sounds lovely x
