Vegetarian chili cooked and stove fuel on it's way.

Sun is shining and I'm fighting my way through the tomato mountain today so I've cooked a huge pan of vegetarian chili.  It will do us a couple of days so that saves me faffing tomorrow. I'd intended to make a veg soup but changed my mind at the last minute when I remembered that there was half a bag of quorn mince in the freezer..  It's a great way to use up all the odds and ends of garden veg as I pick it.  Today's chili has courgette, leeks, runner beans, potatoes, tomatoes, chili pepper and celery all from the garden.  The quorn mince I had bought when we had my vegetarian friend and her uncle over for a meal last month. It's just a shame my friend isn't a chili lover as this would be a gorgeous one pan meal to feed a crowd. The chili would be brilliant as a lasagna or pasta sauce and that may well be what I do with it tomorrow.

I've had a text to say that my fuel for the multi fuel stove is on its way today. I'm chuffed to bits that I haven't had to dig into my savings to buy it as the money I got from taking care of gorgeous  little Zippy has paid for the whole lot.. including fire lighters and matches. That's a huge saving for us and if we have a long cold winter and I have to buy a little extra then it will hardly put a dent in my savings. We adore that little dog and she is spoilt rotten when she comes to stay.  I'd got a 10% discount off the fuel too for recommending a friend. That almost paid for an extra bag and all these little savings add up don't they.

    1. We'll be curling up in front of the fire with a blanket over our knees to keep warm.... like we do every year.
