We hear so many bad things about our NHS but yesterday we saw how very good it is. We turned up a little early for Tony's appointment and Tony had a scan within five minutes of arriving. Then we sat perhaps ten minutes in the X Ray department waiting for his X Ray. Our whole appointment took less than forty minutes and we were back in the car heading home. Unfortunately they didn't disclose a single thing but said they would pass the results on to the consultant. He has an appointment there in December though we know hope if it's anything serious he'll be seen very quickly. Next week he has to go to different hospital to have a camera inserted into his bladder to see what's going on in there and we don't expect to be told anything there either so for now we are none the wiser. My friend had asked if Tony could take her to collect her car which was having a service/MOT so all three of us went out for tea before Tony dropped her to collect her car. I'm going out on foraging walk soon to gather some more walnuts then it's Rumikub until 9am or thereabouts. Jayne and I are stripping paper at her son's again this morning then it's whist this afternoon and a ceilidh tonight.
Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... You'll need the weekend to recover. You're such a busy lady
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed all the results are good and helpful. xx
Off to a marriage ten year renewal/blessing and after party tomorrow. My life is a social whirl this week.. Then nothing for months :-)
DeleteThe camera in the bladder will most likely make Tony very sore and even pee blood for a couple of days, just so you know - husband's had it done 2 or 3 times. I hope he gets the answers he needs in December. You've got a busy social day today! x
ReplyDeleteThanks Sooze. That's useful to know and means we won't worry if it happens.
DeleteI hope the results are good!
ReplyDeleteI know there are issues and complaints with the NHS but you really don't appreciate it until you don't have it. Hospital care and doctor care here is so expensive even with insurance - it's ridiculous. You can go bankrupt by illness and I know several older people who are still working just for the medical care.
That thought terrifies me.
DeleteYour NHS sounds not unlike our system with both good & bad reports. Hope all goes well for Tony.
ReplyDeleteDo you have an NHS?
DeleteI have a lot of respect for the NHS staff and all that they deliver under budget and staff restrictions. They have done a super job of looking after both my old dad and Monsieur, who have both been in and out of hospital in recent weeks / months. I hope Tony's care goes well Cherie xXx
ReplyDeleteOur local hospital has been amazing.
DeleteI'm keeping Tony in my thoughts. I hope that it all gets sorted out soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you. x
