It's piddling down

Last night I listened to the weather forecast for today and it was dreadful so I decided against a walk. I'm glad that I did as it's a horrible morning. I can't remember the last time I woke to such horrible weather.  Although I woke a few times through the night I was able to go straight back to sleep and was amazed to see that it was 08:05 when I did eventually wake up. I'm back in the spare room though as I was suffering death by snoring.  It's hammering down now and looks set for the day so it's an indoor kind of day for me.  At least all my newly planted trees are getting a thoroughly good soak, though I am surprised that the wind yesterday didn't tear them all out of the ground.  I bet there's some tree damage around this morning.

The new porch windows have made a heckuva difference to the amount of light coming into the porch.  It'll really benefit my plants next year when I treat it like a greenhouse again.

I need to motivate myself for a spot of housework if it's going to be an indoor day but the craft room is looking very tempting today so I'll maybe pop back later and if I make anything I'll share a photo.  Stay safe and dry folks.

  1. The weather is foul here. On the way home I went through Birstall roundabouts where J27 of the M62 meets the A62, the A650 and M621. It's busy, complicated, blowing a gale, lashing with rain, water running like a river down the street - and I ended up over taking the same cyclist four times. The traffic was as bad as the weather.

I've all the respect for cyclists, and try and be mindful when I'm driving, but in this well forecast stormy weather shouldn't it be a day to take the bus? It can't be safe for a cyclist with the wind and water never mind going through a busy junction. I hope he got to work in one piece!

    1. Unfortunately public transport seldom goes when or where you need it to and it's so unreliable

  3. We need to rain here, and if not, a full snow winter so spring crops will be fortified. I hope for rain now! Your new windows seem lovely. We have an issue in our front of house with a piece of wood. It needs replacing asap before winter.

    1. We haven't had it as dry as many parts of Britain have so I am considering myself lucky.
