I've just read Sooze's post about Betty sleeping on her bed. When we first agreed to look after Zippy we were adamant that she wouldn't be allowed on the furniture. Within ten minutes she was curled up between us on the sofa... No worries, she isn't going upstairs. Hah!!! It was the middle of the heatwave so on her second night with us we allowed her upstairs where the fan was cooling the room.. In the middle of the night we felt a small body sneak onto the bed and curl up between us.,, So much for 'definitely not'. Now she asks to go to bed just after ten and heads straight for my bed where she curls into a tiny little ball and falls asleep straight away. She is absolutely the most adorable little dog and we are completely smitten by her. Just a pair of softies aren't we :-) Thankfully she isn't a 'smelly' dog or we would have felt completely different about upholding the rules. She's going home on Wednesday and we are going to miss her terribly. I only wish I hadn't felt so poorly this past week as I've had to drag myself over the field to give her a walk three times a day. I usually really enjoy getting out for a walk but could cheerfully have given it a miss most of the time this past week.
You sound like us and our pup. He rules where he chooses!
ReplyDeleteWe are a right bunch of softies aren't we.

Ha ha! At least she's a small dog. I suppose it would be nice in winter with some shared body heat lol
ReplyDeleteShe's like a little wooly soft toy. Cute and cuddly.
DeleteThey are so sweet. Mine sleep in the bed, too. I bet you will miss her. Hope you get rid of that bug soon.
ReplyDeleteThey are such good company aren't they.
DeleteMy mother in law used to let her gorgeous dog sleep at the foot of her bed. He would point his nose towards the door & guard her. She says he was the best husband she ever had (she had a few) :) x
