I've spent the past few hours dealing with my tomato mountain and in truth it hardly looks as though I made a dent. I've made a huge preserving pan of passata and currently the skins and pips are drying in my dehydrator ready to be turned into tomato powder. The pan on the right is a pan of chicken and garden veg soup that I made to use up a chicken carcass. It tastes absolutely blimmin lovely and we'll have it for tea tonight and lunch tomorrow. The pan is bigger than the photo implies. Tony can have a couple of crusty buns with his as he's not bothered about eating carbs.
I'm waiting for the passata to cool before I pour it into tubs to freeze though heaven knows where I'll squeeze it in. I could kick myself as my neighbour asked if I need jars the other week and I said no... At the time I had plenty but have used them up. She put them in the recycle and they have gone. Oh well not to worry.

You've certainly been busy again. All that lovely passata, the yummy soup & powder to come. Well done, take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely abundance of tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, I know what you mean, I did 4 batches of sauce, and we gave so many away this year. They loved our hot weather in Chicagoland also. Looks, FABULOUS!
