It's surprisingly warm this morning

Yesterday morning I spent a couple of hours harvesting a lot of the tomatoes and chili peppers in my garden. I have yet another pile to deal with but that's fine as I am turning them all into gorgeous soup and pasta sauce bases for later in the year
This morning I've been out into the veg plot for a check around and was surprised to find that it is quite warm outside.  I'm hoping for a lovely day in the garden as Tony is at work until lunch time.  I'm doing our first roast dinner in absolutely ages and have picked some beautiful beans, kohlrabi, and leeks to serve with it. I'll pull the carrots just before I need them and they are looking and tasting amazing. There's a couple of woody looking kohlrabi that need pulling for the compost bin and a bit of dead heading and tidying up.  The light level is so noticeably different at this time of year and it'll soon be the cold dreary months of winter.  Enjoy Autumn while we have it everyone.

  1. It's definitely autumn. The kohlrabi sound nice. I've never had them, but they always look lovely and fresh

  2. I was out in the garden today, too. Your roast and homegrown vegetables sound divine! I love this time of year. My roses are still in bloom. They have the perfect spot, in the sunshine.

  3. It's been feeling rather chilly down here - or maybe I'm just over-sensitive!
The light really is different now, isn't it? The seasons are moving on rapidly right now. xx
