This morning I checked with my friend to see if we were walking as she's been away for a long weekend to Belgium. She asked if we could meet a little early as she wanted to visit the doctor's when they open so she could make an appointment. We were there for 07:30 only to discover that they don't open until 08:30. Oh well. We went and had a good long walk before returning to make her appointment.
I've just tipped out some of my potato buckets and tomorrow I intend to make a big pan of leek and potato soup with the spuds and some leeks from my garden.
There's no carving club tonight but as of next month we will be there every week which I am really pleased about. It's a cracking club and we meet up in Bowburn Community centre on Tuesdays between 7 and 9pm if anyone would like to pop along and see what we do. I don't think we are taking on new members yet but you could come along and see if it's something you'd be interested in. People come from a fair distance away and it's really good fun with a great crowd of people.
My daughter did a carving club at her college. They used bars of soap.
ReplyDeleteSome of our club members went into schools to show the children.
DeleteSoup sounds good. Would love to look in on the carving club, but way too far to come. Last time in UK we visited a great woodworking sort of shop, I think, in Snainton. I'll ask DH when he gets up. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteAt least you got your walk in nice and early. Nothing nicer than a meal made with fresh produce from the garden.
ReplyDeleteIt will be nice to have carving club every week. I bet you'll get lots of lovely projects done. Do you have a recipe for the leek and potato soup? It's a favourite of mine, but haven't found a great recipe yet
